【ちゅうかげ うめのはな】梅紋。
・・公式な場所はともかくとして、私的な趣味の集まりなどには、あまり表立たないような紋を、ということになります。本来の紋を使い、しかも目立たなくする工夫、技法が考えられました。「覗き」・・「豆（まめ）」・・「陰（かげ）」一般に陰紋といいます。陰紋に対して普通の紋を特に日向（ひなた）と呼ぶときがあります。陰はその太さによって、太陰（ふとかげ）、中陰（ちゅうかげ）、陰に分けられます。（泡坂妻夫著「家紋の話 紋章上絵師が語る紋章の美」）
