【まるにさんがいびし】菱紋／大正十四年（１９２５）刊、上絵師だった武田政己著『紋章』では「正三角形を二つ合わせた形が菱」と記述されています（幾何学的菱）。・・・しかし、『紋章』はこの菱のままに紋を作ると、菱の高さが低すぎて貧弱に見えると述べ、次の様な割り出し法（紋章の菱）を説明しているます・・・・松皮菱と三階菱は紋章の菱でなく幾何学的菱から作図されています。（参考文献：泡坂妻夫著「家紋の話し　上絵師が語る紋章の美」）
