【つきにこうもり】紋帖では『平安紋鑑』に掲載されているのみです。その後の調べで、この紋章は家紋として継承されてきたものではないことが判明しました。このことから「月に蝙蝠」は、上絵師たちが江戸時代から保管し、伝えてきたものから、人気の高いものとして抜粋されて、昭和十一年に『平安紋鑑』に掲載された可能性が高いと考えられます（森本景一著「家紋を探る」より）
