西郷隆盛 TIE

南洲菊【なんしゅうぎく】西郷家には・・「抱き菊」といって、二枚の葉が十六の花弁を抱いた紋形のものがある。これは明治天皇が維新の大業をなしとげた隆盛の功を賞して下賜されたもので、天皇は「中央の華は朕であり、抱き二葉はすなわち汝である。朕を両脇から支えて天下鎮定のために尽くせよ」との有難いお言葉を賜ったという。（丹羽基二監修「家紋知れば知るほど」）／西郷隆盛は南洲菊を「おい一代にせよ」と遺言したという。（丹羽基二著「まるわかり日本の家紋」）／本図案は、丹羽基二著「姓氏紋章お国めぐり西国編」に掲載されている「南洲菊」を参考にした (2013/8/11作図）
