Molted feather from a companion bird, raised from an egg. Collected, washed in protective soap and laid out by hand to dry in a breezeless room. I photograph the plume with a Nikor macro lens. Composited in PhotoShop to suggest a Snowflake. From Lewis Mark Grimes "Feather Rishi Collection."

I love my feather snowflakes. There are several and they're all different. They use only the molted feathers helping to protect and conserve avian life. This is part of the BeFeathered project and I'm very proud of the work. Save Feathers, Save Birds. Zazzle, with its 100% satisfaction policy, is a great printer. They take the macro images of my molted feather designs and turn them into spectacular products. Worth the money and great ideas.
