Mapmaker John Melish created this hand-coloured map of Ohio around 1812. The map shows the land office districts in Ohio, including the Virginia Military District, and Ohio Company and the Western Reserve lands. The border of the American Indian lands in the northwest part of the state is drawn on the map. The map is from the collections of the Ohio Historical Society (Map VFM 0003-8).
