[300] Master Mason - Gold Square & Compasses Short Table Runner
Introducing “Ancient Brotherhoods” Collection by Serge Averbukh, showcasing heraldry and insignia of various historical brotherhoods, societies and orders. Here you will find pieces featuring a 3rd Degree Mason Gold Jewel - Master Mason Square and Compasses
The Square and Compasses (or, more correctly, a square and a set of compasses joined together) is the single most identifiable symbol of Freemasonry. Freemasonry is a fraternal organisation that arose from obscure origins in the late 16th to early 17th century. Freemasonry now exists in various forms all over the world, with a membership estimated at around six million. The fraternity is administratively organised into independent Grand Lodges or sometimes Orientates, each of which governs its own jurisdiction, which consists of subordinate (or constituent) Lodges. There are also appending bodies, which are organisations related to the main branch of Freemasonry, but with their own independent administration.
The Square and Compass or sometimes known as “The Light” is also representative of the 3rd degree in a Freemason’s level of achievement. Once a mason has reached the 3rd degree, he becomes a Master Mason. Both the square and compasses are architect's tools and are used in Masonic ritual as emblems to teach symbolic lessons. Some Lodges and rituals explain these symbols as lessons in conduct. However, as Freemasonry is non-dogmatic, there is no general interpretation for these symbols (or any Masonic symbol) that is used by Freemasonry as a whole. As measuring instruments, the tools represent judgment and discernment. In English speaking jurisdictions the Square and Compasses are often depicted with the letter "G" in the centre. The letter is interpreted to represent different words jurisdiction to jurisdiction. Among the most widely accepted interpretations are that: [G] stands for God, and is to remind Masons that God is at the centre of Freemasonry. In this context it can also stand for Great Architect of the Universe (a reference to God). In a different context, the letter stands for Geometry, described as being the "noblest of sciences", and "the basis upon which the superstructure of Freemasonry is erected."

The item being reviewed is a "Your Design Here" Custom 14 inch x 72 inch Table-Top Runner.
The textile quality is very good. An excellent compromise between durability and threads-per-inch count (for good image quality). The stitching of all edges is very tidy. A very detailed and helpful care label is attached. The label reads "100% cotton", and the item feels like canvas (which should provide good durability and long service life).
All things considered, I am very pleased and delighted with this product, and would not hesitate to recommend it, or to order another such item. My source image files are not of super-high-resolution, and so I was ready to accept mediocre printed image resolution (sharpness). I am surprised and very pleased at the details visible in the printed images (some of which I was not expecting to see at all). I see no evidence of unwanted pixellation, or stair-stepping of diagonal lines.
The color intensity (saturation) is not quite stunning, but the colors otherwise are faithful (hue) to the original images. The edges of all text characters are razor-sharp. I see no distortion (which I have come to expect with other "Your Design Here" print-onto-textile products) in either the images or the text--all text blocks are perfectly parallel and perpendicular to the edges of this table-top runner.

I used 7 table ruunners for a Rehearsal Dinner. I personalized each with different pictures of the wedding party and prospective bride and groom. They were a HIT! The colors were excellent and the photographs completely clear!

It's great to see my design printed and in the real world on something we'll use on the table this week. The hems are good and it's nice fabric. Great. Great. This was my second product from zazzle, and as a test I sent the most complex designs I have, and everything is perfect, color, detail, gradients - just gorgeous. I'm going to buy lots of stuff now - I owe so many presents . . . .
