A Christmas Carol (Xmas) (Dante Gabriel Rossetti) Tile

This design features a painting by the English artist Dante Gabriel Rossetti (1828–1882). It is a traditional Christmas scene involving three women dressed in red and green. The woman in the centre of the image has long flowing locks of red hair, which is being combed by the two attendants beside her. The central figure is playing a Christmas carol on the keyboard of a clavichord, which is a predecessor of modern pianos; there is a nativity set with sprigs of green foliage underneath the musical instrument. It is a vintage image that celebrates the importance of the Christmas season. The original artwork was painted in 1857, and it is now housed in the Spencer Museum of Art (University of Kansas), Lawrence, Kansas, USA.
