Georges-Pierre Seurat (2 December 1859 – 29 March 1891) was a French post-Impressionist artist. He is best known for devising the painting techniques known as chromoluminarism as well as pointillism. While less famous than his paintings, his conté crayon drawings have also garnered a great deal of critical appreciation. Seurat's artistic personality combined qualities that are usually supposed to be opposed and incompatible: on the one hand, his extreme and delicate sensibility, on the other, a passion for logical abstraction and an almost mathematical precision of mind. His large-scale work A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte (1884–1886) altered the direction of modern art by initiating Neo-impressionism, and is one of the icons of late 19th-century painting. My custom yoga mat came out beautifully. I printed an inspirational quote on it and printed it on a background of my custom business color. The printing came out beautifully. I just wish the background color automatically printed on the back of the mat, too, so that it was all one color. It cost more than I wanted to pay to add the color to the back.

As a yoga mat, it is comfortable to use. I place a second mat under it for added comfort. But I mostly use this particular mat design for "Distance Reiki". (I am a graphic designer but I also do distance reiki work and needed something full size to work with my clients so I designed this for that purpose. The Chakras are highlighted and make it easy to place charkra stones over. I use a pendulum and tuning forks to balance the body's energy, and this helps me know, with greater detail, what part of the clients body I am connecting to when I feel fluctuations in the energy field. I am very pleased with how my design turned out. The background is very complex with color gradations and with text at the bottom. The text is readable and I am pleased with the detail in the graphics.
