Aerial view of Chain Bridge - Budapest, Hungary Postcard

This postcard features an elevated frontal view along Budapest’s Széchenyi Chain Bridge towards Pest, with St. Stephen’s Basilica rising in the distance. The bridge was completed in 1849 from W. T. Clark’s suspension-bridge design and helped bind Buda and Pest physically before their political unification in 1873. Its axial position on the Danube makes the crossing a central feature of the historic riverfront that UNESCO recognises as part of Budapest’s outstanding urban landscape.
