This design features a painting by the French Impressionist artist Claude Monet (1840–1926). It shows the pink and purple flowers of agapanthus plants. Monet took influence in his work from the plants, trees and pond at his home in Giverny. Monet sowed seeds of agapanthus plants along the banks of his pond. Agapanthus is a thin, wispy lily plant native to Africa. The original painting was completed in 1917.
