Akechi Mitsuhide Enemy at Honnoji Calligraphy Art T-Shirt

明智光秀: Akechi Mitsuhide, was a samurai and general who lived during the Sengoku period of Feudal Japan. Mitsuhide was a general under Oda Nobunaga, who then became famous for his rebellion against Nobunaga in 1582, which led to Nobunaga's death at Honnoji in the Honnoji Insident. 敵は本能寺にあり: "The enemy awaits at Honnoji!", is the annoucement make by Mitsuhide to his troops in the Honnoji Insident (本能寺の変), signalling the attack on Oda Nobunaga and his small number of retainer in Honnoji. In the background is the kamon (family crest) of Akechi, Tokikikyo (土岐桔梗) or "Japanese bellflower".
