Albaicín Spain Postcard

The Albaicín is the ancient Moorish quarter of Granada, Andalusia, located on a hillside opposite the magnificent Alhambra palace complex. As a UNESCO World Heritage site, it retains its mediaeval street plan, a labyrinth of narrow, winding alleys, white-washed houses, and serene gardens. Walking through the Albaicín feels like journeying back in time to the era of Moorish Spain, with hidden squares, old mosques transformed into churches, and remnants of ancient city walls. One of the main draws of the Albaicín is the spectacular, panoramic view it offers of the Alhambra and the Sierra Nevada mountains beyond, particularly from viewpoints like the Mirador de San Nicolás.
