Albert Edelfelt - Queen Blanka, 1877. A favourite Finnish painting, one that has been loved by quite a few generations. Queen Blanka or Blanche of Namur (1320–1363) was queen-consort of Sweden and Norway, as the spouse of King Magnus Eriksson. The boy on the painting is their son, Håkan (Haakon). There is also a song associated with this painting: "Ride, ride on my knee, the horse is called Blanka" (Rida rida ranka, hästen heter Blanka).
