Alfred Joseph Casson was a member of the Canadian group of artists known as the “Algonquin Group”or “The Group of Seven”. He painted with clear colours and a limited palette, choosing a simplified style with the landscapes of southern Ontario as his subject. This painting is called “Algonquin Provincial Park”. Rolling hills and dense forests surround a serene lake, with dramatic clouds scattered across the bright blue sky. Sharp lines and bold colours create a vibrant landscape scene, giving the setting a dynamic, lively feel.
