The alligator snapping turtle can be a formidable pet, but he is quite adorable and safe on this greeting card. You can recognise alligator snapping turtles by the rough, ridged skin that resembles an alligator, the large, triangular-shaped head and the distinctive yellow patterns around the eyes that help camouflage them. However, their most distinctive feature is the three distinctive rows of spikes on their carapace (shell). Find matching postage stamps in our gallery.
