Alligators at Osprey Point Golf Course Postcard

Two alligators bask in the sun at a pond on Osprey Point Golf Course, one of five golf courses in Kiawah Island Golf Resort in South Carolina. Several more alligators were lounging elsewhere and also lurking in the water. The Osprey Point course at Kiawah Island was designed by Tom Fazio and is recognised as one of the "50 Best Golf Courses for Women" by Golf for Women magazine. The Osprey point course is a par 72 course. It measures 6,932 yards (6,339 m) from the tournament tees, and it has a slope rating of 73.3/135. American alligators are found in the southeast United States and live in freshwater environments, such as ponds, marshes, wetlands, rivers, lakes, and swamps, as well as in brackish environments. When they construct alligator holes in the wetlands, they increase plant diversity and provide habitat for other animals during droughts.
