A macro photo of a shining sparkling raw amethyst gemstone. Many crystalline, diamond and pyramid shaped crystals. The colours included in this gem, range from pink to magenta to violet. A narrow semi-transparent band with a gold border has the word amethyst printed on the bottom of the image. In ancient lore amethysts were believed to ward off intoxication as well as heal and protect its wearer. Amethyst is the birthstone for February babies.
