Angel of Independence Lit Red, Mexico City Poster

The Angel of Independence seen from above after dark. The gilded winged figure at the top is lit warm gold, while the column and its plinth are washed in deep red floodlight, with pale stone figures grouped around the base. A circular stepped plaza rings the monument, and lit office towers stand behind it, one crowned with a curving line of lights. Almost the whole frame is black, so the red and gold read as pure colour against it. That makes it an unusually graphic piece for a photograph, and a good fit for a dark or dramatic room where a bright landscape would feel out of place. This listing uses the upright crop.
