The colossal Saturn V rocket, the most powerful machine ever built at the time, thundered skyward, carrying a spacecraft with three astronauts on a historic journey. The ground trembled, buildings shook, and a plume of orange smoke engulfed the launchpad as humanity's first lunar voyage began. - This file is in the public domain in the United States because it was solely created by NASA.
