I hadn't seen lotus flowers in real life or ever really paid much attention to them until I visited the Blue Lotus Water Garden in Yarra Junction, Victoria. My breath was taken away by the masses of swaying lotus flowers and their huge, circular leaves. I even bought a lotus plant to take home which is now blessing me with beautiful double pink blooms. My pen and ink drawing 'Nodding Lotus' is based on a photo I took while at the Blue Lotus Water Garden. As beautiful as the nodding flowers are I think it's the leaves that steal the show! This edition of 'Nodding Lotus' features a tropical color scheme.
