Arcos de la Frontera is one of Andalusia's most dramatic pueblos blancos (white villages). Perched precariously atop a high limestone cliff that drops sheerly into the Guadalete River below, the town offers breathtaking views of the rolling countryside. Its historical centre is a labyrinth of narrow, winding cobbled streets, whitewashed houses with iron balconies, and ancient churches like the Basilica of Santa María de la Asunción.
