This heraldic design is adapted from the Arms of Jamaica from 1906 to April 8, 1957. The Cross of St George, appearing on many flags including that of England, has been a central part of the original design from the first patent was granted in 1661 under Royal Warrant. Five golden pineapples represent royalty and hospitality.
