Art Nouveau Dancer Jane Avril by Toulouse Lautrec Wrapping Paper Sheet

Three different vintage illustration Art Nouveau poster designs by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. Page One features Jane Avril, Jardin de Paris by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, 1893. Jane Avril (born Jeanne Richepin 1868–1943) was one of the most famous can-can dancers at a nightclub in Montmartre and was made famous through Toulouse-Lautrec's paintings. This image shows Jane's leg while she is performing on stage. Page Two features Divan Japonais by Henri de Toulouse Lautrec, 1893. The Victorian advertisement painting was commissioned by Edouard Fournier, owner of the Montmartre bar and night club Divan Japonais. The Café du Divan Japonais restaurant nightclub featured exotic touches such as bamboo furniture and paper lanterns in the Japanese style. Page Three features the dancer La Goulue by Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The original advertisement lithograph was Toulouse Lautrec's first poster and features the dancer La Goulue (Louise Weber, the Queen of Montmartre) performing the scandalous chahut (can can) dance with her partner Valentin le Desosse (the boneless was the stage name of Jacques Renaudin). They are dancing at a famous nightclub, bar and restaurant near Paris, France. All of these posters were included in the Les Maitres de l'Affiche (Masters of the Poster) series of 256 colour lithographic plates used to create a very significant art publication during the Belle Époque in Paris, France.
