John James Audubon was one of the America's great naturalists, documenting hundreds of birds species with great precision as he made his way across America and drew in detail the wild birds of America. Audubon then published lithographs of his scientific drawings of the American birds, and this Great Blue Heron is among the best Audubon lithographs made by Audubon. The Great Blue Heron is actually a slate grey heron with blue tints and with striking markings- a black shoulder, white face, and a white crown with black stripes. It's a large heron - the largest in theU.S. The Great Blue Heron has a bill that is strong, long and yellow. The colours of the heron's thighs are a chestnut brown. The Audubon great blue heron is standing in the marsh, with marsh grass around it, and it is obviously looking for fresh fish, as its great yellow beak is turned down towards the water. This Audubon bird print of the Great Blue Heron is a beautiful bird print, and a classic image from the early 1800s.

Very impressive product! The canvas is sturdily made. It features a saw tooth hanger on the back, making it easy to "try out" the canvas in several rooms until I found the best location.
