National flag of Austria The Austrian flag is the second-oldest in use (after the Danish flag), and dates back to 1230. It is a horizontal tri-band flag, with red bands at the top and bottom, and a white band in the middle. In common with many other flags, it has a 2:3 ratio. Note that any distortion in the preview image is caused by compression artefacts, and won't be printed.
