Ayam Cemani Rooster blanket by Laurene Wells

I drew this picture of an Ayam Cemani rooster in pencil on paper in 2019. I modified the picture in Photoshop to be able to transfer it to digital products. This is my artwork, my edits, my IP. An Ayam Cemani is an all black breed of chicken, that even their tongue is black. However, the hens lay white eggs. (And contrary to urban legend, their blood is still red, not black.) I am fascinated by these beautiful all black chickens, their feathers glisten purple and green in the sunlight, and the roosters have gorgeous long tail feathers. They come from a warm climate so they have very tall combs, and they don't do quite as well in cold climates because they are at risk of frost bite. I love them though. And I hope you love this blanket!
