Aztec Calendar Fleece Blanket

This is my colourful interpretation of elements from the magnificent round "calendar stone" of the ancient Aztec city of Tenochtitlan. In this particular arrangement the inside part shows the four epochs or "ages" that all ended with a dreadful cataclysm of one sort or another. Outside of this centre part are the icons of the twenty days of the month. The borders at top and bottom show the symbol for the planet Venus, each one divided by a symbol for an obsidian knife which cuts the cycles into distinct segments.
