This early 20th century US History photo features the youngest member of the suffragist parade - a baby in a carriage - surrounded by it’s mother and other women dressed in white, carrying flags and banners and sashes proclaiming ‘Votes for Women’. Holding the suffragist parade was a bold tactic to publicize the cause and combat the idea that women should be confined to their homes and perform only household chores. Photo taken May 6, 1912.
