Baby's Wee Willie Winkie Infant Creeper

This gorgeous infant creeper is for the precious baby in your life, and moms and dads who like educational but fun clothing for their little ones. The design on our cuter than cute baby bodysuit shows an illustration of a little blonde haired boy in his pyjamas running through a town at night time. It's dark outside and there are stars in the sky. Above the determined little boy's head are the words of the much loved nursery rhyme "Wee Willie Winkie." Our design is based on a vintage WPA (Work Projects Administration) poster encouraging children to read more. The original poster said that Wee Willie Winkie ran through the town to count the many children reading library books. We've changed this back to the original Scottish children's nursery rhyme: " Wee Willie Winkie runs through the town, Upstairs and downstairs in his night gown, Tapping at the window, crying at the lock, Are the children in their bed, for it's past ten o'clock?" The poem was written by Scottish cabinet maker William Miller (1810 - 72), and printed in "Whistle-binkie: Stories for the Fireside" back in 1841. Nowadays the nursery rhyme is used as a bedtime story the world over to persuade children it's time to go to bed!
