BALLERINA & BLACK CAT - This is a striking Impressionist painting of a ballerina holding a black kitty cat. It was painted in 1894 by the French Impressionist Pierre Carrier-Belleuse. Carrier-Belleuse studied under his famous sculptor father, Albert Ernest Carrier-Belleuse, as well as at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. He debuted at the Paris Salon and exhibed widely throughout France.
