Banshee, Mediaeval Bestiary Art Notebook

Banshee, Mediaeval Bestiary Art Notebook On the wailing strand, where the tide pulls at the pale sand, a banshee drifts along the shore in a long white veil of mist. Her hair streams on the sea wind, grey waves break behind her, and the whole beach seems to hush. Irish folklore says the banshee walks the shore when a family is about to grieve. That sorrow carried on a sea wind shapes the whole design. A large gold drop cap opens the word BANSHEE, with a red subtitle, of the Wailing Strand, set beneath it over a small black ornament. A short scholar's entry in old style lettering fills the left column, and a framed window on the right shows the pale banshee drifting along a misty shoreline. A slim glowing gold rune marks the lower left corner. Mist white, sea grey, and pale blue sit on a parchment tone page with darkened, burnt looking edges, inside a border of blue and red acanthus vines, red and gold flowers, four small songbirds, and thin gold rails. • Pale banshee drifting along the wailing strand • Gold drop cap B, red subtitle of the Wailing Strand, and a short scholar's lore entry • Mist white, sea grey, and pale blue on a parchment tone page with a blue and red floral border • Part of the Mediaeval Bestiary Notebook Collection from Myth And Monsters
