National flag of Barbados The flag of Barbados is a vertical tri-band flag, with deep blue bands at the edges and a yellow band in the middle. It has a 2:3 ratio. The centre band features a black trident symbol, which is often known as the 'broken trident'. The flag came into use in 1966, and was designed by Grantley Prescod, a local art teacher. You can personalise the design further if you'd prefer, such as by adding your name or other text, or adjusting the image - just click 'Customise it' to see all the options.
