Artist: William Holbrook Beard. Pen and ink drawing, c. 1860. A bear chained in a barnyard holds a surprised dog while a donkey looks on from over the fence. Published as a card by Currier & Ives; the original caption to the image was the donkey saying: "I told you so!" Whimsical black and white drawing in sepia-tone.
