Franklin's Experiment, June 1752: Demonstrating the Identity of Lightning and Electricity, from which he Invented the Lightning Rod. Franklin's Experiment features the famous inventor Benjamin Franklin flying a kite in the rain clouds during a thunder and electrical storm with a key hanging from a kite string. Ben and his assistant are on a country road.
