Bering chickweed (Cerastium beeringianum) is a ground covering plant which grows any where with good drainage on Unalaska Island. It is one of many species of chickweed found in the Aleutians and has the distinction of being the species with the largest flowers. The white blossoms are over half an inch in diameter. Bering chickweed makes a great addition to a natural flower garden, producing clouds of white blossoms.
