Bhutan Taktsang Monastery Cliff Temple - Tiger's Nest. Paro Taktsang is a sacred Vajrayana Himalayan Buddhist site located in the cliffside of the of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan. The monastery complex was built in 1692, around the Taktsang Senge Samdup cave. There is a two hour climb from the valley floor, which is already high at 7,000 feet, to the Tiger's Nest which is 3,000 feet above the valley floor to an elevation of 10,000 feet above sea level.
