"Bill of Fare 1889" Playing Cards
The first Childs Restaurant was launched in 1889 by brothers Samuel S. Childs and William Childs, on the ground level of the Merchants Hotel (current site of One Liberty Plaza, also previously the Singer Building), at 41 Cortlandt Street (between Broadway and Church), in New York City's Financial District. The brothers' concept for the establishment was to provide economical meals to the working class, quickly, with an unusually high emphasis – for the period – on cleanliness and hygiene. Their novel design format included white tiles, white uniforms, and waitresses instead of then-common waiters. In addition to these signature characteristics, Childs locations also featured their pancake griddles in the front window. Within five years, Childs had grown to five profitable locations. They also are credited as inventors of the "tray line" self-service cafeteria format, which they introduced in 1898 at their 130 Broadway location. Child’s restaurants was part of a chain of eateries the dotted New York City in the first half of the 20th century. Childs Restaurants was one of the first national dining chains in the United States and Canada, having peaked in the 1920s and 1930s with about 125 locations in dozens of markets, serving over 50,000,000 meals a year, with over $37 million in assets at the time. Childs was a pioneer in a number of areas, including design, service, sanitation, and labour relations. It was a contemporary of food service companies such as Horn & Hardart, and a predecessor of companies such as McDonald's

Wow what a fantastic product. I have been looking for custom playing cards for some time to use on my YouTube channel. it is very hard to find the right cards on line as you can only see and not feel the actual cards. I can only say that you will not be dissapointed with these cards. They are perfect in every respect for using and perfoming card tricks. The quality is outstanding and they feel great. Very highly recommended to anyone that is looking for cards for performing tricks or as a gift. The design turned out exactly as I made on line with the editing tool that you use. The process to desin the cards is very easy to use. The colours and print quality are outstanding. Very happy with my choice. Could i have made it any better .... No as the final product is exactly what i wanted.

Was great to be able to design as you like, colour, font, size, etc. My 6 year old grandson was thrilled to get his own pack of cards. It arrived very quickly, too. Thank you!!! Nice and clear and the colours are great

Quality of the playing cards was great. Plastic like feel so feel like they’ll last a long time and won’t rip or crinkle. We all had a good laugh as the picture in the cards was a close up picture of the girl whose birthday it was for. Image quality was good although I felt like it was a bit too close up and I should have put a border around the photo other than that colours etc were true to photo
