"Broody and blue" is a dramatically lit acrylic painting of a black angus bull. Angus cattle can be found wandering on Dartmoor in Devon and although black there are plenty of blueish highlights to be found on their hides. Their dark colours really pop against the purple heather and orange yellow gorse of the Dartmoor landscape. While the landscape is not pictured here, the background colour and the purple cast shadow remind us of the gorse and heather, respectively.
