The term „black swan“ originates in science theory and describes an outlier event, that´s mostly beyond everyday perception. With the financial crisis of 2007/8, this term has entered common language. Often, it is referred to as „tail event“ or „tail risk“, as its occurence is situated on the fringes of a standard statistical distribution graph. As such, it is most often used to denote a negative event, which derails the usual flow of things. The design on this product tries to show this menacing character, in a way not so much the „elephant in the room“ but the „swan in the room“.
