Blackberries Greeting Card

Cosmic blackberries? Absolutely, yes. Why? Well, why NOT? I started this piece in 2023 intending for it to be one of those watercolor pieces that was minimalist, yet slightly splashy, and would look nice in a country-ish themed kitchen with a lot of woodgrains and white walls. The original colour scheme was much earthier. I was planning to give it to a coworker who always talked about picking blackberries. My inspiration fell off and this piece sat for three years. It's okay, though: 1) The coworker turnt out to be an RFK supporter who body-shamed other coworkers, and 2) saturating the design with neons and abandoning the minimalist ideal made this piece rock so fookin' hard, if I do say so myself. I have already gotten compliments on it from my brother and my husband. I felt the way the dark colours were SO dark almost gave this piece a mystical witchiness, almost like it belongs to a hedge or garden witch, so I free-handed the five-point stars to give it that extra-primitive feel and bring the feeling home. Almost like they're Blair Witch blackberries but at a gay night club in the seventies. I guess I just stumbled upon my next inspiration spree lol.
