Blessed virgin Peace Scipione Pulzone CC0753 Card

Greeting card inspired by a beautiful, serene portrait of Mary (The Blessed Virgin, 1583). Artist is the Neapolitan Scipione Pulzone, also called Il Gaetano, active in Italy in the second half of the 16th century. He was especially esteemed for his portrait paintings, displaying high artistic quality in the rendering of details. His artistry also inspired the Roman Catholic cult of devotion to Our Lady of Providence. Inside the greeting card a short message that seems to harmonise with the picture: Gentle heart, Bless us with your peace. I hope the card can offer some comfort in times of hardship.
