At the same time, a total lunar eclipse takes place, turning the full moon from a brilliant white spotlight in the sky to a deep rich red colour with a blood-like appearance while the eclipse in in progress. This is known as a Blood Moon. The three simultaneous events create what astronomers call a Super Blue Blood Moon.
