Blue Quetzal Bird Canvas Print
This pretty design is of two quetzal birds playing in the vines of a tropical rain forest. At the top there are gold scrolls and filigree elements to accent. This was done with coloured pencils, watercolor pencils and marker. They are found in forests and woodlands, especially in humid highlands, with the five species from the genus Pharomachrus being exclusively Neotropical, while the single Euptilotis species is almost entirely restricted to Baja Verapaz, Guatemala. They are fairly large (all over 32 cm or 13 inches long), slightly bigger than other trogon species.
Quetzals have iridescent green or golden-green wing coverts, back, chest and head, with a red belly. They are strongly sexually dimorphic, and parts of the females' plumage are brown or grey. These largely solitary birds feed on fruits, berries, insects and small vertebrates (such as frogs). Even with their famous bright plumage, they can be hard to see in their natural wooded habitats.

Very impressive product! The canvas is sturdily made. It features a saw tooth hanger on the back, making it easy to "try out" the canvas in several rooms until I found the best location. It attracts good comments from my friends. I love it! The printing is wonderful! Colors are as bright and crisp as they appeared on the website.

I ordered this product to see what the quality was because I am selling it on my store. Plus it was on sale and it was an excellent price! I didn’t expect it to be as nice. It really is beautiful. I am relieved! The only thing I don’t like about it is the sawtooth hanger on the back. I prefer a wire hanging system. The sawtooth hanger was not even centered but I managed to hang it straight anyway. Overall I love it! I will add the wire myself. The printing was clear and crisp and the colors were excellent! The canvas was stretched tight and professionally done. I am very happy with the quality of the print!
