Blue Temple Thailand Postcard

The Blue Temple, formally known as Wat Rong Suea Ten, is a modern Buddhist temple located in Chiang Rai, Thailand. Completed in 2016, it is famous for its striking and unconventional deep blue colour palette, adorned with intricate gold detailing. The temple was built on the ruins of an ancient sanctuary and designed by a local artist who was a student of the creator of the famous White Temple, blending traditional Buddhist architecture with contemporary artistic expression. Inside, the main hall features a massive, serene white Buddha statue that contrasts beautifully with the vivid blue murals covering the walls and ceiling. These detailed paintings depict complex Buddhist allegories and cosmic scenes. The temple's exterior is guarded by magnificent, elaborately carved Naga serpents, making it a mesmerising fusion of spiritual devotion and vivid, modern Thai art that attracts travelers from all over the world.
