The fierce Blue-throated Hummingbird is one of the two largest hummingbirds in the United States, weighing up to three times as much as a male Ruby-throated. Though uncommon and declining at the northern edge of their range, they can be found along shady canyon streams in the mountains of southeastern Arizona, southern New Mexico, and far western Texas.Painting by Sheri L.
