Botticelli Nativity Virgin Mary Child Saint Joseph Ceramic Tree Decoration

The painting “The Nativity” by the Renaissance artist Sandro Botticelli (1445-1510), from about 1482-1485, is a tondo (a round painting) representing the Virgin Mary and baby Jesus saint Joseph, with the two shepherds coming in the background, one of them carrying a black sheep on his shoulders. Saint Joseph is on the left raising the child from the ground. Madonna is on the right, adoring the child, with hands clasped in prayer. They are in a ruined building (stable). Through the window, we see a landscape and the procession of the Magi coming. It has a golden round frame with vintage botanical decorations. The painting is in the public domain in the United States, the European Union and all countries with a copyright term of life of the author plus 100 years or less.
