This image features an artwork by Swedish painter Carl Larsson (1853–1919), who was a member of the Arts and Crafts movement. It shows a boy sitting in the corner of an elegant drawing room; he looks sad and disheartened, perhaps because he has been chastised and is being punished for bad behaviour. It is a scene of ordinary family life in a fashionable Swedish home of the Victorian era. The original painting was produced in 1894.
