Brighid Cross Paper Plate

I am sooooo ready for a celebration. Special occasions deserve special tableware and I created this lovely plate to remind me that the Sun is on His way back. Imbolc reminds us that even though there may still be a blanket of snow on the ground, the bulbs are beginning their journey to greet the sun. This plate features a Brigid cross on a stone background. New spring leaves remind us that soon, new green growth will be everywhere you look as Winter looses her grip. I am so ready! The Brigid Cross is an equal-armed cross woven from straw in honour of Ireland's Saint Bridget (Also known as: Bride, Brighid, Brigid) on her holiday, Candlemas, which is observed on Imbolic, the second of February. It is traditionally believed that a Brigid's Cross protects the house from fire and evil. Makes nice looking table ware too!
