Bucephalus, Alexander the Great's Favourite Horse Poster
Bucephalus was the famous favourite Stallion of Alexander the Great and one of the most famous horses of ancient times. The name means "ox head" and Bucephalus was known for his great size and his massive head. This is a reproduction of a 17th Century engraving by George Simon Winter - also known as Winter von Adlersflügel - who was a veterinarian and the director of several German stud farms. Winter published some of the most important early treatises on raising horses, equestrian art and veterinary medicine. His works include "Bellerophon, a new treatise on equestrian topics." In this version we have added a vintage style surround.
